About this Service
I work with Children, Adolescents, adults and families who have come to counselling for a range of behavioural and emotional difficulties. My area of specialism is clients that have disabilities. The issues that may bring your Child/Adolescent are attachment, anger, , bullying, loss, transition, school refusal, trauma, sibling disability/Illness, parental mental health problems and addictions, anxiety, phobias, and parental separation. Children/Adolescents with mild to severe Autistic spectrum disorders, mild to severe learning disabilities mild to severe, deafness, Downs Syndrome, Speech & Language disorders, Dyslexia, and Neurological disorders. ODD, ADHD, Chronic pain.
Within my work I help your child/Adolescent understand about their internal world, their feelings and thoughts. I look at how this may affect their day to day life and make sense of what is happening around them. I offer confidentiality to your child /adolescent so they feel free to talk and share anything. I use a variety of techniques. Talking, playing, creative skills. My work is client led and your child/adolescent finds their own way of expressing their worries and feelings.
When working with adults I believe that we have an unconscious mind that holds everything we have experienced in life. Childhood and adolescent events can leave their imprint. Having specialized in child and adolescent psychology I can bring this knowledge and facilitate awareness on how this may influence any current problems. Areas that you may wish to explore; relationships, loss/bereavement, separation/divorce, anxiety/stress, panic attacks, depression, Low self esteem/confidence, illness/disability, eating problems, trauma, any area that you feel you would like support in exploring.
