About this Service

I’ve worked as a counsellor since 1995 and offer a safe space for exploration and self understanding. Counselling can be long or short term and it may feel daunting when trying to choose the right therapist. I offer prospective clients an informal 30 minute video call meeting in which we can decide if  we can work together. Therapy isn’t a quick fix although sometimes the work can happen quite fast, especially if you’re ready to explore deeply your internal world and the impact of events and experience on that internal world. I work with feelings, experiences, memories, beliefs, thoughts, dreams, wishes, body expressions and the breath: all are material for therapy and all are relevant. Sometimes it can be helpful work in an expressive way, using art or movement and sometimes the need is for a more meditative style of work or for us to focus on some relaxation strategies alongside the exploration in order for the work to be effective.

I work online using video calling so you can access me from home without having to travel.

I offer a safely boundaried relationship where we work with openness, sensitivity and challenge.  My experience includes Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, Primary Care (GP counsellor for 7 years), college counselling and private practice since 2003. My private practice includes work for Employee Assistance Programmes and work for insurers. I’m a BACP Senior Accredited and Registered Counsellor with  a Diploma in Person Centred Counselling from University of Warwick, 1998, Certificate in Person Centred Art Therapy Skills, 2002, PostGraduate Diploma in CBT for Person Centred Therapists, 2009.
